Stage 2 is an ECU remap written for a car that has had supporting hardware upgrades — typically a better-flowing intake, downpipe or exhaust, and an uprated intercooler. The map is matched to that hardware, so it can safely ask for more than a Stage 1 map on a standard car.
What is the difference between Stage 1 and Stage 2?+
Stage 1 is software only, on a completely standard car. Stage 2 needs hardware changes first and a map built around them. If your car is standard, Stage 1 is the right starting point.
