The van carries dealer-level diagnostic scanners (Autel, Launch X-431, Bosch KTS and OEM-specific tools for VAG, BMW and Mercedes), trolley jacks and axle stands rated for vans up to 3.5 tonnes, a complete socket and torque-wrench set, brake-fluid bleeders, battery testers, alternator testers, compression testers, an oscilloscope for tracing electrical faults, a full range of common service consumables (oil, filters, brake fluid, coolant, AdBlue) and bonded stock of the most-replaced wear parts: brake pads, brake discs, batteries, alternators, starter motors, glow plugs, sensors and wiper blades.

That means most jobs are completed in one visit on your driveway, in your office car park or wherever the car has broken down. No tow truck. No three-day wait for a dealer slot. Diagnostic scans are £60 and run far deeper than the basic OBD-II code-readers sold at Halfords. Our dealer-level tools read live data from every module on the car — engine, gearbox, ABS, airbag, body control, infotainment, parking sensors, AdBlue, DPF, tyre-pressure monitoring — and read the manufacturer-specific fault codes that generic scanners cannot see. We give you a printed report of every code, a plain-English explanation of what each one means and a fixed price to repair the underlying fault. You are not obligated to take the repair quote — many customers use our diagnostic report to negotiate a fair price with their own garage.

Full services start from £120 and include engine oil and filter, top-up of all fluids (coolant, brake fluid, washer, AdBlue), 30-point inspection of brakes, tyres, suspension and underbody, battery health test, alternator-charging test, and a service-light reset on the dashboard. We use OEM-spec or Comma/Castrol/Mobil oil to the exact viscosity and ACEA/API standard your manufacturer requires. A service book stamp or digital service record entry is included.

Brake jobs are one of our highest-volume mobile services. Front pads and discs on most cars take 90 minutes on a driveway with the wheels off; rear is similar. We supply OEM-equivalent Brembo, Pagid, ATE, Mintex or Ferodo pads and discs depending on the application. Brake fluid is bled and replaced on schedule (every 2 years for most manufacturers). MOT pre-checks before the actual test save customers an average of £180 per failure-and-retest fee.

'Car won't start' is the single most-booked mobile job. Roughly 60% of no-starts trace back to the battery, 15% to the starter motor, 10% to the alternator (which kills the battery), 8% to the immobiliser or key (an auto-locksmith job we can also handle in-house) and 7% to the fuel pump, glow plugs, crank sensor or fuel relay. We diagnose all five paths in 15–20 minutes on-site with proper electrical testing — voltage drop, parasitic draw, cranking amps, alternator output under load — rather than the dangerous and expensive 'just replace the battery and see' approach.

Most batteries are replaced in under 30 minutes including BMS/AGM registration to the car's body control module — a step almost every internet battery-fitter skips, which leaves the alternator misreading state-of-charge and cooking the new battery within 12 months. Stop-start cars almost always need an AGM or EFB battery; fitting a standard wet-cell battery to a stop-start car is the single most common cause of a battery dying within a year. We stock AGM and EFB batteries to fit BMW, Audi, Mercedes, VW, Ford, Vauxhall and most other makes.

Alternator replacement on most cars takes 90–180 minutes on the driveway. Starter motor replacement is usually 60–120 minutes depending on engine bay access. Glow-plug replacement on cold-start diesels takes 45–90 minutes and prevents the misfires, cold-start smoke and DPF clogging that follow worn glow plugs.

The economics of mobile mechanics are simple. A high-street garage carries the overhead of business rates, MOT-ramp lease costs, a forecourt, a counter team and a 9-5 reception. Those costs are passed to you in the labour rate — typically £85–£140 per hour across West London. A mobile mechanic carries no premises overhead and passes the saving back in lower labour.
