Modern car diagnostics is not the same job it was ten years ago. Generic Halfords scanners read maybe four codes from the engine. We read every code from every module — typically 200+ data points on a modern car — and present them in plain English with severity ratings.

Second, live data analysis. Static fault codes tell you a sensor 'failed plausibility' or 'circuit out of range', but they do not tell you what the sensor is actually doing right now. We pull live data — boost pressure, MAF airflow, fuel trims, lambda voltages, EGR position, DPF differential pressure, AdBlue dosing rate, ABS wheel speeds, immobiliser handshake — and watch the sensors operate in real time. This is where the difference between 'this code says replace the sensor' and 'this code says the wire to the sensor is broken' becomes obvious.

Third, isolation. Most modern cars throw three to seven related codes from a single root cause — one wire, one earth, one sensor, one connector. The skill is identifying the root code and ignoring the consequential ones. We use oscilloscope traces, voltage drops and physical inspection to confirm the actual point of failure rather than throwing parts at it.

Fourth, a written report and a fixed-price repair quote. Every customer gets a printed (or PDF) report of the scan, the codes found, the cause identified, the recommended fix and a transparent price.
