Professional. Mobile. Trusted.
An AdBlue warning on a car with a full tank almost always means the fluid is not being delivered correctly — and the metering pump takes the blame for a lot of faults it did not cause. Blocked filters, restricted lines, crystallised fittings, degraded fluid, failed tank heaters and injector blockages all raise the same pressure codes. We attend with dealer-grade equipment, test dosing pressure and actual delivery live, check fluid quality and the whole path from tank to injector, and only then tell you what needs doing.
- Live dosing pressure and delivery testing on the vehicle
- P20E8, P204F, P203F and manufacturer-specific dosing codes
- Filter, strainer, line restriction and crystallisation inspection
- Tank and line heater circuit testing for cold-weather faults
- AdBlue fluid quality and contamination checks
- Mercedes, VW, Audi, BMW, Ford, Peugeot, Citroen, Vauxhall, Land Rover, Nissan
- Mobile diagnostic visit from £150 — parts and repair quoted separately once diagnosed
- Repair and compliance focused — we do not delete AdBlue systems on road vehicles
Signs of an AdBlue pump or dosing fault
AdBlue warning with a full tank
The most common presentation. The tank is full, the fluid is fresh, and the car still counts down — because the fluid is not reaching the SCR system at the pressure the ECU expects.
Pressure build-up or pressure-line codes
P20E8, P204F, P203F and the manufacturer equivalents. These describe what the ECU measured, not which part failed — pump, line, filter, tank heater or a crystallised injector all produce similar readings.
Audible pump running or dead silence
The metering pump normally runs briefly after shutdown to purge the line. Continuous whirring, or nothing at all, are both meaningful.
Crystallised AdBlue around fittings
White crusty deposits at the pump, tank flange or injector mean urea is escaping and air is getting in. Cleaning it off without finding the leak just delays the next warning.
Fault returns after a pump replacement
Frequently the original pump was fine and the restriction was downstream, or degraded fluid had already contaminated the new unit. We check fluid quality and the whole delivery path, not just the pump.
Cold-weather no-start countdown
Tank and line heaters keep AdBlue liquid below freezing. A failed heater circuit looks identical to a pump fault on the dash but is a far cheaper repair.
Not sure which part it is? Start at the AdBlue repair hub or read about NOx sensor faults.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the symptoms of an AdBlue pump fault?+
Typically an AdBlue warning or no-restart countdown despite a full tank, pressure-related fault codes, crystallised white deposits around the pump or tank flange, and sometimes an audible change in the pump running after shutdown. Because these overlap with injector, heater, NOx sensor and fluid-quality problems, the only way to confirm the pump is to test dosing pressure and delivery live.
Can an AdBlue pump be repaired rather than replaced?+
Sometimes. A blocked filter or strainer, a restricted line or crystallisation at a fitting can often be cleared and the system re-primed. A pump with an internally failed motor or pressure sensor needs replacing. We tell you which after testing, not before.
How much does AdBlue pump diagnosis cost?+
The mobile diagnostic visit starts at the £150 minimum service charge and includes fault codes, live dosing pressure and delivery testing, fluid-quality checks and a written finding. Parts and any repair labour are quoted separately once we know exactly what has failed — AdBlue pump prices vary hugely between manufacturers, so we quote against your registration rather than publishing a guess. Nothing is ordered without your approval.
Will you just delete the AdBlue system instead?+
No. AdBlue removal is not a legal option on a road-going vehicle in the UK and it is not what we lead with. Our AdBlue work is repair and diagnostics — getting the SCR system working correctly so the vehicle stays MOT-compliant.
Can I keep driving with an AdBlue pump fault?+
Usually for a short while — most vehicles give a countdown of a few hundred to a couple of thousand miles before they refuse to restart. Once the countdown reaches zero the vehicle will not start until the fault is fixed, and it will often need recovering. Booking early is significantly cheaper than booking late.
Do you come to me?+
